Persevering Jars
The Japanese inspired glaze suggests minimal landscapes - terrain to be explored, adventures to have. The combination of sturdy pot with neon high-performance rope tethered round the top looping into a handle, suggests the possibility of action: journeys; gathering; sharing.
Persevering Jars continues my exploration of function and possibility in contemporary ceramics. It brings together the manifestation of recent thinking developed through a research blog and follows on from works made for the RWA Academician Candidates Exhibition, bringing ideas from several pieces together into one.
